Ukraine is one of Europe's largest countries by area and has a large population, known for its historical richness and diverse biology. Before the war, Ukraine showed long-term growth in GDP and was strong in agriculture, IT, and mining industries. The country is also home to a growing tech industry with a skilled IT workforce in services, software development, e-commerce, and customer support.
Overtime:
Working beyond the standard weekly hours is compensated as overtime and governed by the employment contract or collective bargaining agreement. There are limits on the number of overtime hours an employee can be asked to work, which is 4 hours over two consecutive days and no more than 120 hours per year.
Pregnant women, employees with children under 3, employees under 18, and students are prohibited from working overtime.
Employers need permission from women with children aged 3-14 and disabled individuals before requiring them to work overtime.
Mandatory overtime may be required in case of unexpected production disruptions or to prevent downtime.
Overtime exceeding 40 hours per week is compensated at a rate of 200% of the regular hourly wage. Working overtime on a day off can be compensated by an equivalent day off instead of pay.
At CleverFleet, our Perks and Benefits are a source of pride. For years, we've been crafting one of the finest benefit packages for your employees and contractors. We firmly believe that offering the right benefits is crucial in attracting and retaining top talent.Typically, our packages include some or all of the following:
Employees are eligible for a minimum of 24 days of paid annual leave after 6 months of uninterrupted employment. The paid leave entitlement may increase for minors and workers in physically demanding or hazardous positions.
Employees are eligible for unlimited paid sick leave until they recover or are deemed disabled. Employers are responsible for paying for the first 6 days of sick leave, after which the employee will receive a sickness benefit from the Social Security Fund, which ranges from 50-100% of their regular income.
As a female employee, you are entitled to 126 days of paid maternity leave. This begins 70 days before your delivery and continues for 56 days after. In the event of multiple births or any complications, your maternity leave may be extended to a total of 140 paid days, divided between the pre- and post-delivery periods.
After maternity, either parent of a newborn child can take unpaid parental leave to care for the child until age three. This leave can be taken in separate increments or all at once.
The termination method varies based on the terms outlined in the employment agreement and collective agreement and is determined by the contract type and reason for termination. Generally, the legislation offers strong protection for an employee's rights, and pregnant women, women with children under three, and pre-pension employees are safeguarded against being dismissed.
The notice period is determined by who initiates the termination:
If an employment contract is terminated due to an employer's breach, the employee is eligible for a severance package equal to three months of pay or six months of pay if the employee is a corporate officer. If the termination is due to the employee being deemed redundant or unfit for the required tasks, the employee is entitled to one month of pay.
The length of the probation period varies based on the job role of the employee. For non-qualified employees, it is one month, while for specialists and managers, it is three months.
